Claude Dashboards and Claude Motion: live dashboards and animated explainers, plus Docs, Slides, and Design leave beta
In brief
On October 8, 2026 Anthropic released Claude Dashboards and Claude Motion in beta, and moved Docs, Slides, and Design out of beta for every plan. What each does, who gets it, and the October 15 and December 14 dates admins need.
Contents
On October 8, 2026, Anthropic released two new beta features in Claude, Dashboards and Motion, and moved Claude Docs, Slides, and Design out of beta. All of them are built on Artifacts, the pages Claude creates and lets you edit and share.
Claude Dashboards
Dashboards is in beta on paid plans. You connect a data source, ask a question in plain language, and Claude builds a dashboard that updates as the data changes.
- Sources: data warehouses such as BigQuery, Databricks, and Snowflake, and business tools such as Salesforce.
- Traceability: each number links to the query behind it, and each chart shows when it last refreshed. That is what lets you check a figure before you present it.
- Export: you can send a dashboard to BI tools such as Amplitude, Hex, or Tableau for deeper analysis. Looker, monday.com, and Tableau are listed as coming soon.
A good first dashboard is one you rebuild by hand every week, such as pipeline by stage or support tickets by age. Ask for it, then open three of the numbers' queries and compare them with what you know to be true.
Claude Motion
Motion is in beta for Team and Enterprise plans. You describe a short animated explainer, for example a 30-second all-hands update or a product walkthrough, and Claude builds it.
Motion animates your own text, charts, shapes, and images, written as code. It does not generate video footage or people. Because the animation is code, you can edit words, numbers, and timing in the editor or ask Claude to revise it, then download the result as an MP4 or open it in tools such as Runway or HeyGen. Canva and Captions are listed as coming soon.
Docs, Slides, and Design leave beta
Claude Docs and Slides and Claude Design are now available on every plan, including Free. Anthropic lists recent additions: customer-managed encryption keys (CMEK) for Artifacts, team co-editing, PowerPoint and PDF export, direct export to Google Slides, and mobile editing.
What admins need to do
- Dashboards and Motion are off by default on Enterprise. Turn them on under Organization settings > Artifacts.
- Docs, Slides, and Design turn on by default on October 15. You can enable them sooner, or decide before then whether your policies need changes.
- The standalone Claude Design site at claude.ai/design closes on December 14. Admins can migrate team design systems from the Artifacts page. Chats and project comments in the standalone version do not carry over, and public links to standalone projects stop working when it closes.
Before you enable Dashboards, decide which warehouse credentials Claude connects with. Use a read-only role limited to the tables the dashboard needs, so a question in plain language cannot reach data the asker should not see. The Compliance API now also returns chats from the unified Claude experience in beta, which covers these sessions for audit.
Read Anthropic's announcement for current limits; the page does not state usage quotas.
